Disclaimer
Routine evaluation will give the gymnast the
tools to improve her score. Gymnastics judging is subjective and
not a perfect science. Gymnasts perform differently from one
competition to the next. The gymnast is ultimately in control of
her performance but not the score awarded by the judges. Nobody can
guarantee a gymnast will score higher and routine evaluation is not
a guarantee of a higher score.
Having your routines evaluated at the optional
level will give you your routines worth, start value, and/or its
potential worth. You will be given a range of deductions to the
errors that I see in the routine. Remember, a score is a judge’s
opinion of a routines worth based on the rules in play. You will be
receiving my opinion of errors, the deductions I would take,
composition problems I see, whether or not I would give a skill
credit or bonus, and the artistry-rhythm-dynamic deductions I see.
From the errors I point out, the gymnast will be able to go back to
the gym and make corrections. If requirements are missing, the
gymnast will be able to bring this to the coach and make
corrections. If the gymnast does not have a 10.0 start value,
remember it is not the end of the world. It is better to have a
clean routine with a lower start value than to attempt a skill for
bonus and receive more deductions in execution than the skill is
worth. This is also true with some composition deductions.
Having your routines evaluated at the
compulsory level will give you a range of deductions to the errors
that I see in the routine. You will be receiving my opinion of
errors, the deductions I would take for execution, rhythm, artistry,
dynamics, direction, and text.

When sending routines I do not need to know
what the routine or vault scored. Please do not ask me to evaluate
whether a routines score was right or wrong. That is not part of
the package nor is it ethical.
